2012 Sun Belt Preview

State of the Sun Belt: The Sun Belt adds South Alabama as a conference member this season.  FIU completed its second straight winning season and appears to be the best team in the conference coming into this season.  Even with a coaching change, Arkansas State should be able to contend.  Troy had a down season last year, but should rebound back to the upper tier of the conference.  Louisiana-Lafayette had a surprising nine win season.  But a perfect 4-0 record in close games last year and a defense that only returns four starters has me calling the Ragin' Cajuns my letdown team of the conference.

FIU | 9-3 | 7-1

Arkansas St | 8-4 | 6-2

Troy | 6-6 | 5-3

Western Kentucky | 5-7 | 4-4

Louisiana-Monroe | 4-8 | 4-4

North Texas | 5-7 | 4-4

FAU | 4-8 | 3-5

Louisiana-Lafayette | 5-7 | 3-5

MTSU | 5-7 | 2-6

South Alabama | 3-10 | 1-7
