2012 MAC Preview

State of the MAC:  The MAC tried to expand to 14 teams by adding Massachusetts to its membership.  But then Temple fled back to the Big East, and the MAC remains with an awkward 13 members.  No further expansion is planned at this time.  The MAC has one main favorite in each division; Northern Illinois in the West and Ohio in the East.  Many other teams showed noted improvement last year, and could be considered sleepers this year.  Bowling Green and Kent State are my two favorite ones.  For a letdown team, look no further than Toledo, who has an brand new head coach leading a very inexperienced roster.  No way the Rockets match last year's nine-win total.
