-------------------------------

* Just how good are Missouri and Cincinnati? Both had impressive wins this past weekend to stay unbeaten.

* Count me in the group that thinks Stanford beating USC is a bigger upset than Appalachian St beatin Michigan.

* Look, Notre Dame won a game!

* Mike Hart has put the Michigan team on his back and has led them to four straight wins. If he keeps this up, he should become one of the top Heisman candidates.

* Isn't it a sign of the apocalypse if Temple and Buffalo win on the same day?

* With losses by Wisconsin, USC, Purdue and Kentucky, now there are only 11 undefeated teams. The lowest ranked one is Connecticut at 22.

* The number of winless teams was cut in half this past weekend, as five of them won for the first time. The winners were Rice, Notre Dame, Temple, Louisiana Lafayette and Louisiana Monroe. Still winless are Marshall, Colorado St, FIU, North Texas and Utah St.

* North Carolina, Memphis and San Diego St won their first game over a FBS team. Now only five teams have only beaten an FCS team: NC State, UAB, Tulane, Idaho and Louisiana Tech.
